Remarks: One of the most fun jetski experiences I've ever had.
The river itself is from 100 feet to about 300 feet across depending on where you're at.
The current is super slow, there are a couple points under bridges where it speeds up to a
blistering 4-5mph in certain channels. The water is glass flat 99% of the time, and a bit
nippy, keep in mind it was snow high in the Cascades Mountains just a couple hours before
we rode it ;). Going upstreat from the launch is nice and relaxing, lots of slow corners
and long straights with 20-50 foot embankments on either side as the river winds east into
the Everett "depression" <whatever you call a town set below sea-level and
basically flooded out>. A few miles upstreat there's a cool spot where it looks like
you are behind some kind of "downtown area" lots of historical type buildings
and walking paths near the river. It turned out to be Snohomish city, a great spot to show
off for the saturday downtowners. We tooled around that spot for about 30 minutes before
headin back towards the launch for a lil gas. Downstream of the launch of a very different
palce, much wider, and more an old "industrial" feel, but hold your breath, it's
worth goin through. Once you get a couple more miles downstream, there's a few offshoots
to the right, take them :) I could tell you all about it, but then I'd have to cmoe to
your house and eat you. All I WILL say is this, go there, check it out, you will be amazed
with jetskiing like you've never even considered doing before. From log jumping to tight
carving, you will be put to the test and eat bugs as your reward <too much smiling
makes a great bug-catcher <<ew!>>. There's really not much of an area at the
boat launch to hang out, so it's not that great a place to bring the whole family, but
when you can get away for a day, I strongly suggest takin the trip.
