Remarks: Best place in the Seattle area to jetski bar none. Great boat access
and easy loading/unloading. Fully fenced off-leash area, it is the only off-leash area
within city limits with water access. It is also the biggest. This is also a great place
to fly a kite. Sand Point Head is a grassy 35-foot hill with no trees to trap your kite.
Junior League of Seattle donated the playground. The waters of Lake Washington offers good
windsurfing. Also, the Artwalk is NOAAs art collection includes six outdoor artworks
by nationally recognized artists. Of special interest is the "Sound Garden,"
located atop a knoll near NOAAs boundary with Sand Point Magnuson Park. This
installation features pipes that generate muted tones, with the pitch dependent on the
direction and velocity of the wind. In all, the NOAA art collection pleases the eye,
challenges the mind and enchants the ear. Did you know the first round the world flight by
an airplane was started and finished @ Sand Point? Hot diggity!
